i was having a conversation with another mom this morning, and she started to tell me how max, of max & ruby, was dressed as a vampire for halloween and just how inappropriate that was. i laughed and asked why it was inappropriate.
she proceeded to tell me that she didn't want to go to the trouble of explaining to her kid that vampires are mythical creatures that suck your blood so she just told him that they are "pretend."
i think diego was also a vampire today, the wonderpets saved a bat, and the count has been sesame street for a million years. also, this mom loves to read twilight.
discuss.
Re: vampires on kiddie cartoons=inappropriate?
I think there are far more inappropriate things on kid's cartoons than vampires! However, I suppose each mom needs to decide what she deems appropriate or not for her kid.
I would have laughed oo.
LOL. or how rude ruby is to max? i hate that stupid show.
sounds like she's gotten a little too deep into her twilight books.
She's a weirdo. Bunnies also don't talk...
I saw that Max and Ruby yesterday. It was less annoying than most of them.
I forget what the show is called... Super Readers? Super Why? I don't know. It's on PBS. Anyway... there was a vampire on there this morning and I was only concerned that they were going to spell it. They had already spelled pumpkin and it took for-freaking-ever ("where's the p? *SUPER LONG PAUSE* there it is! P!"), and I already know how to spell vampire and I'm pretty sure Seth's not just going to pick it up one morning at 17 months.
But, yeah. Not concerned about the actual vampire.
This was the only episode I've seen and it will be the last. Fortunately dd wasn't really into it.
I think that watching Max and Ruby is inappropriate because those rabbits are so annoying. MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAX!
And I agree with you, BW...we all watched The Count on Sesame Street when we were kids!
I loooved the count on Sesame Street. I don't believe my mother ever sat me down to explain why he had sharp teeth and why he was inappropriate. Because my mom didn't have a stick up her ass.
Jo is currently watching the Berenstain bears. Should I be discussing grizzly bear attacks with her?
this. I was explaining to DH a few days ago how they're kids but live alone and seem to have no parents/adult supervision
lol and by that logic, the cat and the hat = home invasion. nothing is safe!
