GD - BS #'s plummet with Kashi

Go Lean Oatmeal!  I had it for the second time today along with coffee, bottle of water, fruit and a string cheese for breakfast.  Less than 2 hours later I was shaky and sweating - checked my BS and it was 53!!  The same thing happened the first time I had it but I wasn't sure if it was from the oatmeal now I'm pretty convinced that it was.

Anyone else have this happen?  I'd normally have the same breakfast with whole wheat toast and peanut butter instead of the Oatmeal and #'s are always in the 90's to low 100's afterwards.

  • Hi, it doesn't sound like it's the oatmeal that caused such a low number..it sounds like you didn't eat enough to get a good number..
  • Really?  I stayed within my carb limits (45g) for breakfast.  It's the same meal I have almost every day except that I usually substitute the oatmeal for whole wheat toast and peanut butter.  Thanks for the suggestion though - I'll run it by my doc when we talk about the numbers.
