reaction to Aveeno? Or something else?

DD has dry skin so we switched to Aveeno baby wash for dry skin and used it for the first time last night and shortly after we noticed red bumps on her face and neck but nowhere else on her. Could it be a reaction to Aveeno or something else? Isn't the Aveeno supposed to be natural?

Re: reaction to Aveeno? Or something else?

  • my dd has super sensetive skin and has a reaction to everything but johnson and johnson. Especailly on her face, the little pores are so sensitive.

  • We were using J&J too, but she got very dry skin from it and our pediatrician said that bc of there being no humidity in the air in CO and the perfume in the J&J products makes for very dry skin in babies and suggested we use Aveeno.

  • I used to work for a pediatric dermatologist, and babies (or anyone!) can definitely have a reaction to "natural" products.  A lot of natural ingredients can be really irritating!  Try cetaphil--very moisturizing and has a very low rate of reaction!
  • Oh--I should say that my favorite cetaphil moisturizing product is the cream in a tub for "sensitive skin."  I am allergic to EVERYTHING and have had eczema since birth, and this product really helps and doesn't irritate at all!  Haven't had any reaction to any other Cetaphil product, either, though.  Good luck!
