3rd Trimester

My FFFC~~DH VENT

I have considered myself a very fortunate woman to be married to a man that is extremely bright and a wonderful husband/father/provider. However, I have to assume that this mornings event can only be related to what I will refer to as "sympathy pregnant brain". After DH has been sending me a slew of email requests to check with my auto insurance provider to get a quote for him about putting him on my policy, I admit I hadn't gotten around to it. I get it done this morning and think this is truly important to him and I need to not only get on but get it finished. I finally answered him a step further.

I got the quote and signed him up on my poplicy. Tired of getting the same email over and over, I have 7 cases coming up for trial where a few million dollars in stolen money hang in the balance, several hundred witnesses to line up for prosecution and transportation, the house to clean, chores there as well, Halloween tomorrow, family coming into town for trick or treating, rearranging my schedule for his surgery coming up this week so I can happily take him there and take care of him after, 2 showers this week, my son's autism ARD for review...the chick has a full plate already.

So instead of getting back to DH about just the quote, I felt it was a good deal (lowered both insurance payments by more than $200) I singed him up. I relay the info in a return email and he goes off telling me that I didn't follow his directions and just give him the quote instead of making the decision to put him on my policy. My return quote?

DH,     "I.D.G.A.R.A." means I don't give a rats a$s. I am eyeball deep in work and attorneys wanting it done yesterday. If you wanted a better answer then I can cancel the deal and you can stick with what you are paying on your own instead of the considerate wife that I am, looking out for and paying it for you. 2 birds, 1 stone and saving money to boot. Oh and by the way sweet pea, the last person I took directions from has sex with your mother in law. Not the brightest thing to say to the pregnant cop you are married to. See you at home. ~me

Honestly. Who the hell complains about that? Who? I had to call him and ask WTF do you think you're talking to? He went off about me berating him and not following directions...Oh hell no. I'm not your subordinate and if you would care to take a lesson in this we can have that class tonight after the boys are in bed. Pregnant or not, I do very well taking care of the house, our lives together, bills, the job...keep it comin big boy...wanna talk smack? I can go all day. I seriously thought he would have been pleased of the effort I am taking to once again, save money and an extra headache of paying that bill. *scoffs* Men.

  • Oh Hell no. School would definitely be in session when he got home (after the other kid(s) went to bed..) there is no way in hell DH is going to say anything to me about 'following his directions'!?

Good for you for standing up for yourself. I would have done the same thing. ?
