Update: no crying needed

Update: This afternoon I was changing the sheets on our guest bed and went to put them in the laundry hamper in DH's closet. A stack of CDs on one of his shelves caught my eye and I decided to look through it, even though I asked him to check everything in his closet and he said he had. And what do I find, our wedding DVD!!! We've been stressing about this for a week and its been in his closet in a very obvious place the whole time. I could kill him if I wasn't so happy.

When DH and I got married, we did not have the budget for an album for our photographer, but we did buy a DVD with all the images. I figured at some point I would either make one or pay to have one made when we had the money. The first DVD was damaged but we got a replacement and DH backed it up on our external drive. We had a book of proofs, but the cat knocked a cup of water on it and damaged some of the pictures. No problem, we had the DVD. Well, I decided that I would finally get around to making a coffee table book online. Down loaded the pics from the external hard drive - there were only 250 pics out of the 1000 that should be on the DVD. All were taken before the ceremony, so no pics of the wedding, family pics or reception. No problem, we have the DVD. DH had it at the office so he brought it home, but it won't download the other 750 pictures - its the damaged DVD and that is what he backed up. He cannot find the good DVD and is afraid he got rid of it, thinking it was the bad DVD. No problem, I'll call the photographer and pay for another one. Only the photographer is no longer in business and I have no idea how to find her. DH took the DVD to a computer repair shop, but they cannot recover the other pictures. So I have no wedding pictures and I just want to cry. DH feels like crap and I've tried to be really positive with him. Its just a material thing. But I still want to cry.

That's nice of you to be so understanding of your DH, but it's not just a material thing. It's your wedding day images that are really special. I hope somehow you can find the photog and get another copy. I'm sorry that happened. Sad

I'd cry too. I'll help you try and find the photographer if you want. I'm usually pretty good at tracking down people.

Thanks, I'll shoot you an email with the info I have. DH is looking too (he even talked about going to her house to see if she still lived there), but I'll take any help I can get!

if you post who the photographer is or email me ---I second shoot for a lot of wedding photographers in town so I might know someone who knows someone.
