Pregnant after a Loss

Suddenly having irrational fears

So all of a sudden I have this horrible fear of having an incompetent cervix or a bulging bag of water. I have a feeling my mind is trying to convince me that something is wrong with this pregnancy too or that my body is going to reject it because of what happened last time. It probably has to do with the fact that I have an appointment and u/s coming up soon! Talk me down ladies!

Re: Suddenly having irrational fears

  • Believe me, I know how hard it is to enjoy a pregnancy after a m/c

You are almost 1/2 way there and doing great.  As hard as it is, try to stay positive.

You will have a nice, beautiful and healthy baby in your arms before you know it.

  • I'll be honest I had those fears with DS and I had not had a previous loss.  I think with things like IC there is that fear that you won't know there is a problem until it is too late and you wonder why they don't check and you worry.  Anyway, what I am saying is that you're just getting use to be a mom - we worry a lot!
  • I had irrational pregnancy fears up through the moment LO exited my body.  I never really let myself believe that things were going to work out.  Defense mechanism I guess.  Its only natural to feel how you're feeling.  Just remember that you're doing everything you can and should be doing to ensure that your LO is safe and healthy.  Try to think positive thoughts, focus on all the positive things about your pregnancy and how things are going well.  Your past does not dictate your future.  SAL and PAL is proof of that.  (((HUGS)))
