Re: STTN when?

  • haha! never!

H sleeps for 4 maybe 5 hours on a great night... then is up every 2-3 for the rest of the night :)

  • Jacob STTN for the first time when he was 3 months old.  And for the next month or so, it was hit or miss.  He would always go a long stretch in the beginning of the night around 6-7 hours (I know technically that STTN, but not for mom!).  Then he would eat and go back to sleep for another few hours.

  • Well, Garrison had her first 9 hour stretch when she was 7 weeks.  She varied from 7-10 hours for about 6 weeks after that (with about five 11-hour nights--heaven--- mixed in) However, she goes to sleep between 6:30- 7:30 so even when we were getting 9 hours she was waking up at 4 and we often don't go to bed until 11, so.....

Unfortunately, the past week she has only been giving us 6-7 hours at a time again and waking up between 1:30- 2:30.  Not sure if it has to do with a growth spurt (she has been eating almost double what she ordinarily eats during the day for the past 3-4 days), the 4 month wakeful, or just regression.  yawn.

    Good luck!!

  • Jack slept longer stretches at 6 months - like 8 hours... from around 8pm till 4am then would wake for a clean diaper and a bottle, then sleep for a few more hours.  He did that till we finally got rid of that night feeding at 8 months.  He was so small we kept the night feeding longer than most babies need it.  After that he would sleep for about 10 hours - 8pm till 6am.

  • THye have been consistently doing it for about a month now and by STTN I mean from like 7-630ish so almost 12 hours which I know is great. so 5 monhts adjusted . However they would go 9-11 hours starting around 3 monhts adjusted. hang in there

  • Alexis sttn - ALL night from the time she was 2 weeks old. We thought it was a phase, but it wasn't! There's hope =)
  • 2 months. He would range 8-10 hours straight until 3 months old when he started consistantly sleeping 12 hours straight! Heaven!! I hope your girls STTN soon. How old are they now? You should put a ticker in your siggy!!!  :-)
  • James goes through periods where he STTN, and then he stops. Lately he STTN mostly, but wakes up 3-4 times to have us put the paci back in. I consider that STTN since we don't actually have to get him out of the crib and feed him, just stumble into the nursery and put the paci back in.

  • She started sttn around 3 months, when I went back to work.  She sleeps about 12 hrs a night, but she's a terrible napper.  At her old daycare, she would only sleep 30 minutes at a time during the day.  Since switching to her montessori, she's been sleeping about an hour at a time for naps.

  • Mine started around 8 weeks.  Then the 4 month wakeful hit and sucked.  Then around 5.5 months they went back to STTN most nights.
  • Gwen sleeps about 5-6 hours but then goes right to sleep for a few hours twice after that.  Hope that makes sense.

  • Brady didnt STTN until 5 months when we had to sleep train him. I know that is early to sleep train but he wouldnt nap all day and then when he woke up he wouldnt go back to sleep for hours so he was miserable. We had to teach him how to sleep. But then we had to re-sleep train a bunch of times when he got sick, or just decided to stop sleeping again. Now he sleeps great and sleeps 7-7.

At 6 weeks Nolan started giving us longer stretches, usually anywhere from 5-8 hours. We usually only have to feed him once during the night. Last night he ate at 7:30, went to bed about 8:30 and was up to eat at 3:30. He is still sleeping now at 7:30. Good luck!

  • Hmm... I dont know if you want to hear this but DS didnt start STTN until 10 months, then he stopped because he got sick and finally just started again the last few nights.  I thought I was never going to sleep again (really) but they do sleep eventually and it is fabulous when they do!  I hope your girls are good sleepers!
