Can someone tell me about Lilypadz?

I've been using Medela pads that were given to me as a gift, which work GREAT, but are obviously not EF (OR cheap!). If you use Lilypadz, can you tell me about them? I kind of understand how they work, I'm just wondering how well they work- and if you recommend them? TIA!

  • i would rather stab myself in the nipple with forks then ever use lilypadz again.

maybe that's a bit heated.  here's my review

    -they sweat

-they are no protection against actual leaking

-b/c they sweat, they're a breeding ground for bacteria

-they are very visible under clothing, and very 'bulky'.

Pretty much this.  I've used them to sleep a couple of times but usually end up waking up in a flood of milk.

  • I know a woman on the Int'l Newlyweds board who loved them but I haven't tried them myself. I preferred cotton/washable pads myself.
  • haha ok! ok!  Could you recommend your washable pads for me, then? I've GOT to get something soon.

  • They're ok for short term use like going out on a date or something.  But, they will fill up with milk if you let down a lot or easily so you may need to remove and dump the pool of milk during that time.  I hate them for overnight because I still leaked out of them.  But, I have leaked out of every breast pad I've tried and through a multi-folded towel.  The biggest caveat for me is probably because I'm so large chested they made my breasts even more unflattering until I got them wrangled nicely into a bra.  Not so nice when you're trying to turn DH on.

I just got some Imse Vimse wool/silk reuseable breast pads and I really like them. I haven't leaked through them yet. I did get two pairs though since you have to air dry them. You can get them at Global Enfant or Mom's Milk Boutique. Both have free shipping.
