Pregnant after a Loss

A ton of stuff....

Had my first midwife appt yesterday and all in all it went great. I'm *sooo* glad I switched from the OB. She spent a ton of time talking to me and I really felt much more comfortable with her.

Marshmallow is catching up on the growth he lost when I had the flu- he is now measuring eight days ahead again (yay!). I passed my GD test and my iron looked good.

On the down side my blood pressure was pretty high and my fluid levels are low. She told me to take things easy for the next two weeks and guzzle water. If things dont look better in two weeks then we will have to look at putting me on bed rest. :( Also there was a note on my chart that they weren't able to get all of the measurements that they needed of his heart at the targeted u/s (which they didn't say anything about at the time) so I have to have another 'big' u/s to see if they can get the measurements that they need.

But this is twice as long as we have ever managed to keep a pregnancy and he is looking super good so its hard to be too discouraged about such a little set-back!

When I got home from the appt, DH's aunt called and asked if she could throw a shower for his side of the family, which is so nice of her! My sister is doing one for friends but I honestly didn't think his side would do anything so I'm thrilled about her offer. :)

  • Ooh, ick! I hope you don't have to go on bed rest! Most of all, I hope baby is doing great and continues to get what he needs until it's time to come out.
