Random observation

Butterfinger is now bi-lingual.

On the wrapper it says,

"crispety, crunchety, peanut-buttery!" with "Crocante, curjiente, cremosa con cacahuete (mani)!" under it.

"bar" has "barre" after it

and even the net-freakin-weight!  "net wt/peso neto"

Nutrition facts and ingredients too.

I have a flameworthy thought about this...but I'm going to keep it to myself.

Re: Random observation

  • I have a totally un-flameworthy thought.  They should take all the writing off.  It's in the checkout aisle...you know it's gotta be chocolate.  What else needs to be said but: "nom nom nom nom nom"  Wink

  • Wow, I had no idea! That is ridiculous!
  • I'm also trying really hard to keep a comment to myself about that...but my first thought was if you bought that in the same town that you work in...cause well...Stick out tongue I'm sorry, I don't mean that in a mean way, it just made me laugh to myself!

  • LMAO!  No kidding. Which is what I did about 5 minutes ago.
  • I didn't know that. Interesting.

Just to bring up a random perspective... When we went to Italy in 2007, almost EVERYTHING was bilingual... written both with Italian and English. I must say, it made it waaaay easier for us.?

  • Is it possible that some companies are turning to making the product packagings bi-lingual to save costs? As in they wouldn't need different packaging for different countries.

  • The translation is geared more to the Mexican dialect (cacahuate = peanuts).

I would think they're doing it in case a spanish speaker was allergic????

Okay. I'm all about companies cutting costs.  I'll buy that.

  • FYI: Posting about it is not really "keeping it to yourself."
