Pregnant after a Loss

I'm hesitant to even ask (re: cramps)...

So, I'm nearly 14 weeks, but today I feel really crampy. Last night I had some "pulling" feelings in my uterus up to my belly button. But today I feel crampy and my lower back definitely doesn't feel great.

Did anyone have "cramps" around this time? I've had 6 u/s showing everything's great, but I'm still nervous. And of course, my next appt isn't until the week of Thanksgiving. :( I may have to break down and rent a doppler so I don't completely lose my mind...

  • So glad you asked this today. I have been feeling extremely crampy this week, but from what I have heard this is normal around this time as the uterus is growing! GL :-)

  • I felt crampy during times of growth and specifically remember feeling crampy around weeks 13 & 14. The cramps subsided during growth around like 20 weeks. I was always worried too, but just remember that your body is undergoing lots of changes to accommodate your growing baby. I finally got over being worried about it and thought of it as a good sign, but I know how scary it is in the beginning.

  • I had it around that time too.  I bet your ute is stretching in full force :)
  • Im not that far along, but I just wanted to agree that it bites not knowing whats going on in there with LO! If I was in your situation I would just rent a doppler for peace of mind Smile

I have an appointment in one week (10 wks) and I told DH if everything looks good at that appointment then we will be renting/ purchasing an inexpensive doppler till I start feeling movement. LOL

  • I felt crampy a little bit everyday during the first trimester, and I still feel it about every other day. Because I've heard the heartbeat several times now, I remind myself that it's normal growing pains, but I still get a little nervous. I'm sure what you're feeling is completely normal.

  • I've felt crampy on and off this whole pregnancy. It's never very painful, more like a heaviness or pressure. My dr says it is most likely my uterus growing.

  • I seem to get cramps evey 2 weeks on the even number weeks. I ended up renting a dopplar at 11 weeks to help with my anxiety over it
  • Cramps seem to be esp normal around 14-15 weeks could be round ligament pain.  The uterus is stretching and those ligaments get a good pull. I have had a lot of cramping (not including gas :) and my doppler still hears that little heart going pitter patter.  Wishing you peace and reassurance!

  • I had this too...you are growing.  No worries...
  • Thanks, girls. You all made me feel much better! I just wish the cramps weren't so similar to period-like cramps and early miscarriage-like cramps. The stretching/pulling feelings I can totally deal with, but the cramps are scary! Definitely ready for this "symptom" to pass!
