Okay, I have an issue & I am wondering if anyone else has this problem.
I usually wake up at some point in the night to use the restroom. Depending when I go to sleep (and yes, I use the bathroom right before I go to bed), I may wake up anywhere from 2 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. needing to go to the bathroom. I usually get my temp at 7 a.m.
I know this is screwing things up temp wise. I get especially irritated when I wake up at 5 or so.
I am using the TCOYF software and it does adjust my temps a bit based on the time, but my chart is a mess. Anyone else have this problem? If so, how do you handle it?
Re: Temping & Bathroom Issues
I guess we'll see whether it's affecting my temps as time goes on. I hope not, because I won't set the alarm earlier because I wouldn't want to wake DH.
My DH has sleeping issues too, but he can deal with it if it's what I need to do to get pregnant!!
I set my cell phone on vibrate to wake me up at 6:15. I keep it on my nightstand and it's loud enough for me to hear, but not DH. Then my regular alarm goes off at 7:15. Maybe something like that, which he wouldn't hear?
First of all, I usually pee twice before I go to sleep just in case. It does help.
Also, I set my alarm an hour early so that I definitely pee at the same time every day. That way if get up to pee early enough (i.e. I will get three hours sleep before my normal temping time), it doesn't bother me. And if it is too late, I may still have time to sleep for three hours before I actually wake up.
Hope this helps!
1. He works for the Nat'l Weather Service as a meteorologist which is not a 9-5 job. It involves shifts. Once a month for a string of 7 days he works overnight shifts from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. He doesn't get to bed until 4:30 a.m. The last thing I want to do is wake him at 6 a.m. to check my temp and make it difficult for him to get back to sleep.
2. Temping is going to be something we do until I get through menopause. We are Catholic. We follow NFP. We won't stop once we have a baby or two because we will be temping instead of using any sort of BC to prevent pregnancy. So I can't see waking him like that because this isn't going to happen just until we have a child.
