Why is it that...

in Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Why is it that the formula scoop is always at the bottle of the can?   As if it's not already hard enough to open a new can, measure the formula, and mix the bottle one-handed while trying to soothe a screaming infant at 3am when you're not concious to start with?

 

Just curious...

    because they don't think new mothers have it hard enough.

    Good call.

    We only used powder for a few days though and boy did my LO hate it, so now we only use the ready to feed and the pedi agreed.  We are going to be broke soon because of it.

    I hate how the scoop and the bottle opening are pretty much the same size, I feel like I need a funnel because I always spill powder when I'm trying to dump it in the bottle lol

    You should get a formula mixing pitcher.  Dr. Brown's makes one.  I prepare like 16 to 24 oz of formula at one time and pour several bottles in the evening to get me through the night.  I also have a bottle warmer that has a cooler on the back.  I stick 2 bottles in after her last feeding at night.  It's awesome.  No mixing in the middle of the night when I'm using toothpicks to keep my eyes open.  :-)  Good luck!

    That's why I love Similac's container that stores the scoop in the lid ;)  But I had the same problem when I used Enfamil for DS a couple of years ago, it sucks!

    I was told by Public Health not to use powdered formula until the baby is four months old since it can't be sterilized. Fortunately this is not a situation I've had to encounter!

    So weird how different people are told different things, I have never heard of not giving your LO powdered formula until 4 months old. Hmm..

    Enfacare is a powder and specifically for preemies.
