Indiana Babies

I'm shipping Ted to Abu Dhabi

ala Garfield and Nermal.

He was in and out of bed all night last night. Probably got too hot. Every time he hopped out of bed, I woke. Everytime he hopped into bed, I woke. Then, he hopped down and sat by the door probably four times. I took him out four times over the course of maybe five and a half hours.

Wtf, Ted?

I'm very much looking forward to the day he's sleeping in my office as opposed to our bed. Isn't that mean? Poor guy. But I really wanted to body slam him last night. Haha.

  • Hmmm, sounds like Ted is preparing you for life with a newborn.

    Wink

Really, though, that sucks. I'm sorry you didn't get much sleep!

Haha. See, I thought that - at first. The difference between a Ted and a newborn is that newborns are immobile and they can't hop in and out of bed. Hopefully, we'll be bed-sharing or at least have a co-sleeper so I won't have to do too much hopping either Wink Obviously, there's more to it than that but I think denial helps to prepare me. Ha.

Having a dog is like having a toddler for their entire lives. They're somewhat independent but still very needy, kwim?

  • Omg...our dogs did the same thing to us last night (but I slept better than Nate Wink).  Between 2 and 5am, our older dog Katie kept shaking her kennel to go out.  We let her out and she'd repeat the cycle.

    I.don't.understand.

I guess dogs can have "off" nights just like we can, though. It's just one night, in the grand scheme of things. If he were doing it every night and didn't have a reason behind it, I would probably go crazy.

The *** of it is, since I work at home and Abe does not, I have doggy duty at night. Hmph.

  • You're right - babies are immobile. That really does make it "easier" in a sense. We joked with Ella when we had some rough nights at first that at least we didn't have to take her outside like we did with Sophie!

I hope Teddy gets his act together tonight so you can get some sleep!

I so miss Garfield and Friends on Saturday mornings. That was the best ever. AND the old school Garfield cartoons. I love their Christmas specials Smile Jon was always so, so, so depressing though, poor guy.

  • I cracked up at your Garfield reference. On several ocassions this week I have reminded myself how much I act like Garfield in the mornings. It cracks me up everytime I picture him hiding in his little box to keep away from mornings, and Mondays. :)

    I <3 Garfield.
