s/o to the sugar cookie post.

Does anyone have a good recipe for sugar cookies that are not meant to be rolled out? I do not have the patience for that and they taste funny if you don't roll them!

Re: s/o to the sugar cookie post.

  • the ones I just made I didn't roll out. I don't have the patience either. I just use a small spoon and drop on parchment paper. They're very good I just tried one, or 3

    Ingredients

    • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1 cup butter, softened
    • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
    • 1 egg
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
    2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls, and place onto ungreased cookie sheets.
    3. Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden. Let stand on cookie sheet two minutes before removing to cool on wire racks.

  • Thank you! I will probably make these tomorrow.
  • NP! I hate making sugar cookies...trying to figure out when to take them out. They can't get "golden" cause then they're hard, and if you take them out too early they are all uncooked!

  • Me too! I normally just don't and buy the ones from Publix, but I am in the baking mood lately!
