green poo?

DD's poop has changed from the normal yellow-ish color to like a deep forest green. From what I've read online, a greenish color can be normal, but it could also mean she's getting too much fore milk and not enough hind milk. Anyone have any experience/insight into this?

FWIW, I nurse her on both sides, alternating back and forth during the feeding (per LC instructions), and always start on the one I finished on last time.

Dear Bump: You suck.

Re: green poo?

  • Around A's age I started nursing only on one side. Will's poop had turned that dark green color and that was the only way I could think of to make sure he got hind milk too. I nursed on one side, burping halfway through and would nurse on the other side at the next feeding. His poop changed back to a normal color after a few days of that.

    same

  • I'm curious, which LC told you that? I've always heard to empty one breast at a time. I would go ahead and switch to that method as the other nesties suggest and if it changes back then you're good to go =)

  • I thought I read somewhere that green poo can indicate a food sensitivity?
