And it was all that it could be and more...
It started with my being starving. Seriously. I woke up hungry. So I popped a zofran. And then they took some blood (yay) and then they gave me an orange drink. I said "last time it was lime." The very nice man working there said "this is all we have." At which I thought "I haven't been able to keep orange ANYTHING down since the minute I got knocked up, but I took a zofran so I should be fine...."
And then I choked it down.
And then ten minutes later I walked up very calmly and said to the nice guy behind the counter "So, I'm a little nauseous..."
And he replied with: "If you can't keep it down, you'll have to start over. Would you like to lie down?"
So I did. I spent the next three hours trying to sleep it off in their back room.
I managed to NOT have to start over, which I consider a great feat of willpower.
Then I came home and now I'm having a salad.
I don't normally ask for this sort of thing, but if you could send some "it was just morning sickness and the orange and NOT your having GD" vibes my way, that would be great.
on the plus side - we have our c-section prep class tonight and I'm really looking forward to it!
Re: Had my 3hr Glucose test this morning.
Holy cr@p, did you go to Duke??!!
Good luck with the test - I hope you don't have GD!
Sending tons of "GD stay away dust!"
Money Matters The other half's blog.
EJ is growing up too fast!
I too had to lie down but for me it was that bad with the 1hour and yeah I popped a Zofran first too. It was such an awful experience that when I came back 1 point too high I asked my OBGYN if I could skip the 3 hour and go on the darn diet. He thought I was a bit nutty but said, sure go ahead.
Anyway sorry to hijack your post. Tons of no GD for you dust.
Thanks!
And no -- I didn't have my act together enough for Duke...but my grandparents did and they were married there and it's one of those family things. I will try not to be that mom who's all "Hey, Bunny, you're 6'4" like your Uncle...you should play basketball for Duke!" Even though I'll be thinking it the minute he's born into the 99th percentile for height.
the minute i saw the size of rosie's foot on our 20wk u/s .. i said those flipper feet are going to get you to CAL ... CAL, UCI or UCLA swimming ..
we'll see .... and i will try NOT to be that mom about it !
Bunny has big feet, too! And we're a family full of swimmers...maybe they can swim together!
