uh, what does mold on chocolate look like?

I'm so 1st tri right now, it's not even funny. ?But I just ate a jumbo sized Special K bar, and before taking the last bite, I took a very close look at the chocolate frosting. ?It had, like, specks on it. ?Colorless tiny specks that kind of looked like condensation, but there wasn't condensation. ?Was that MOLD? ?And if so, is that really bad?

I made the bars Saturday night, so would they have gotten moldy already? ?They didn't taste funny at all....

Ew. ?I'm really grossed out. ?Ew.

'older' chocolate often turns white/splotchy on top when it's drying out. Sometimes I see that on new stuff, it shouldn't be a problem.

White splotches on chocolate just means it is old. I've eaten lots of splotchy chocolate in my life.

There could have been some sort of condensation from cooling, the change in the weather, the humidity, etc. Chocolate takes a while to go bad because of all the suagr- a natural preservative. I'm sure if you just made them on saturday it's fine.

If you really want to know, you can google moldy chocolate. I wouldn't recommend it. The pictures showed green fuzz and the stories that accompanied the pictures made me a little queasy.
