PP Period - Is this normal?

Since going off BC to TTC, I had really long cycles (hence the TTTC) but really easy periods. Maybe 2 days of really light flow and another 2 of really really light spotting. I have been bfing but got my period when DS was 8 months. It was awful...ridiculously heavy for a full week, bleeding onto the sheets at night awful. My 2nd period is here about 50 days later and it seems almost just as bad...Is this normal? Is it ever going to go back to how it used to be lol ???

Re: PP Period - Is this normal?

  • I have always been a big bleeder, my periods last 7 days. Since dd was born my periods are still heavy as always but now I spot before which I never really did before. So I guess what I'm saying is I guess things can change after baby:)~ Periods suck!

  • I am sorry to tell you that my pp periods were way WORSE than before :( When we were TTC, I had pretty "regular" periods. Heavy for maybe 1-2 days, very little cramping, very few "PMS" symptoms, etc. Would last for maybe 5 days or so.....

After I had DS (I did not BF and did not go back on BC.....) they were awful. They were a full 7-8 days and were VERY heavy. I would also soak pads, undies, etc (sorry....TMI). I had awful PMS symptoms and awful cramping, also felt "sick" during all of my periods (friends used to have this feeling and I never understood it.....know I now what they are talking about!).

I am afraid to see what will happen after this baby comes, although I will be going back on BCP this time, so maybe they won't be as bad???

My first pp period was when DS was 11 weeks old......I got PG when he was 9 months old......never got better. Then, we had a m/c......and then got PG with this baby 9 months later and none of them ever got better :( I wish I had better news-hopefully yours will get better!
