Bouncer, swing, or both?

Does it make sense to get/register for both? I registered for the rainforest bouncer but have gotten two calls: where is the swing? (OOT family shower is next weekend.)

The weight limit seems to be the same so the one caller who said can't use the bouncer as long as a swing... not sure they're accurate.

Once the baby can sit up on their own you are not supposed to use the bouncer. DD still uses her swing daily.

both. you never know which your baby will prefer and if someone else is buying...

as far as not being able to use the bouncer as long, some babies can bounce themselves out of the seat just because they aren't as confined in it as they are a swing. does that make sense?

We got the swing n bounce, worked great for us! The seat part detatches and becomes a bouncer. I am all for multi-purpose baby gear.

We used both very frequently! If you register for a swing - make sure to find a plug in one (as opposed to just batteries).

DS still sits in his bouncer in the bathroom and watches us and plays while we get ready (and he can sit up on his own - oops!) We still put him in the swing for his mini-nap after we pick him up from daycare.

We really liked having both. The bouncer was really nice to keep in the bathroom for showers/getting ready, and we kept the swing in the living room.

We have, and got a lot of use, out of both. Aidan used his papasan (sp) bouncer as a little chair of his own until he hit the weight limit of 25lbs recently. He was pushing a year old when I took down the swing.

We have both. G is too heavy to use the swing anymore, but we got a TON of use out of it, same goes for the bouncer.

I babysit a teeny baby so I brought all of it back out and G LOVES to sit in the bouncer and watch tv. But he also loves to fling himself out of it and roll across the floor though so I'm pretty sure that is a fine example of what not to do...

We had/have a bouncer and a swing. We have used both of them soooo much! DS doesn't sit in the bouncer anymore (he crawls out) but he likes to use it as a table to put his toys on. And the swing...well, that thing saved my life for the first few months...haha! I still use the swing almost every week. I would say put both of them on your registry because you will definitely get your (or someone else's) money's worth.

I would get both. DS loved his swing in the beginning and used it all the time. We don't use it as much now though. It took a little while longer to warm up to the bouncer but he still uses that pretty much daily. It is good to put him in that when you need to shower or eat dinner. The bouncer is also easy to throw in the car if we are taking him to my parents house or something.
