When it rains it pours

Monday we found out DD has the swine flu.

Last night my mom was in a car accident. Her car was totaled. My sister and I told her to go the hospital but she said she felt fine. Her and dad were supposed to leave tonight to drive down to visit DH and I. So at 5Am she was having trouble breathing and they went to the er. They did some scans and is seems that her chest wall hit her heart because of the impact and it released some enzymes (not fully clear on it all...getting it 3rd hand from my sister). So now she is in the hospital and they will keep her overnight for observation. She is still using an oxygen mask because breathing on her own is hard. Dad seems to think they will still makes the trip, just a day late, but i am thinking it might not be the best time for them. I know how much they want to see DD, but i don't know that 10 hours in a car is what mom needs right now.

Doesn't it always seem like that? I'm sorry to hear about your mom. I hope she feels better. See what the doctors say and maybe she'll still be able to visit you!

I would just tell them to postpone...especially with your DD not feeling the greatest and your mom not doing so hot...Who is going to enjoy that kind of visit?

I am so sorry about all of that! I hope your adorable DD and your mom get better soon. I also agree with you on them postponing the trip especially if it is still hard to breath on her own.

I don't know much about "enzymes" or anything but I would think its probably not a good idea for your mom to be around your LO anyways right now. I hope they both feel better soon!!
