How do I find local moms?

Hi ladies! I would really like to find some local groups to attend with DS. Is he too young to start this? I don't know where to begin. Where do I find local moms to befriend/meet. What types of activities or groups to you participate in? Thanks for any suggestions.

  • I started by going to a La Leche League Meeting, then found out about a playgroup, Mommy/Baby yoga, and library story time.  All of them are a lot of fun.
  • I'm a NY mom and we met our playgroup on meetup.com

There's a ton of groups on there.

  • I found my playgroup through Yahoo Groups. If you can't find one for your area, start one! :)
  • Hi there!

He's NOT too young at all and I hope you have some success soon... I really value the groups I have!  ;)

Try your Ob/Gym & Pediatrician's office for recs and check out your local libraries, parks, museums, indoor play places & cafes, gyms, church, pools, community centers and recreation department classes.  An online search on Meetup.com, Momsclub.org and even on Yahoo/Google Groups could turn up some great results!

    Good luck!

  • Never, ever too young! I highly recommend momsclub.org.  Check out their site and see if there is a group in your area.  It's a group specifically for SAHMs and supporting us.
