Re: PG>35 Weekly Check-In: 10/23/09

  • I'm 1 wk away from our big u/s.  It's so exciting.  I'm also only 8 wks away from seeing my boys!!! :)

Last night I had my first "baby girl" dream. :) She even had curly hair just her daddy although it was blonde like one of her big brothers.

I also dreamed that before she was born we were looking at my stomach as she was moving around.  She pressed her face against my stomach and you could see the outline of her eyes and mouth.  She looked like she was giving us kisses. LOL.

The separated pubic bone thing is still driving me crazy and I'm not sleeping well at all because of it.

    But it's worth it. :)

Oh, DH and I are going to Louisville, KY tomorrow.  He has to go watch an IU basketball practice so we are going to do that and go to dinner while we are there.  It will be nice to hangout with him and get out of town.

  • Things are progressing very well. My belly has gotten pretty big over the last 2 weeks which has caused back pain :-( I have 2 showers coming up! I am not one to be a center of attention but am still looking forward to them. I hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy!

  • What a wonderful dream, Shannon!

Please put me on Team Pink!  I am starting to wonder what our daughter will look like.  :)  I have my next peri appt next week.  I really hope that she doesn't find any new fibroids and tells me that the existing fibroids have shrunk.

  • Shannon - hopefully the weather will clear up before you get here tomorrow.  It is rainy & dreary in the 'ville today.  DH is taking me out for dinner tomorrow night - any place I want to go - in case this is our last weekend before Madison arrives. With so many awesome places to choose from, I am having a hard time deciding where to go!

Not much new going on here baby-wise.  Had my 38 week appointment and still effaced 75% - 0 dilation.  I am having more noticable Braxton Hicks though - maybe something is going on?!?  I am still hoping she is a Halloween baby!  My carpal tunnel had gotten so bad, so I went to an acupuncturist last night. For the first time in over 2 weeks, I slept through the night (aside from pee breaks) and did not wake up in searing white hot pain.

Good luck to all you lovely ladies!!!  Have a great weekend :)

  • TGIF Ladies! : )

I was dx with GD last week and finally saw the dietitian Tuesday. Watching what I eat and testing my blood sugar levels has been going well so far... I probably will have to take insulin at night but it's all worth it in the end.  They also think I'll be having an 09 baby instead of a 2010 baby because they most likely will induce me by 39 weeks. And speaking of that, I start my 30s tomorrow - HOLLA!!! : D

  • Happy Friday, ladies! Looks like we should be getting lots of birth announcements in the next couple of weeks.

Baby girl is growing and growing. I feel like my stomach is noticeably bigger each day. I'm afraid my shirts will be too small in a few weeks but I really don't want to buy anymore maternity clothes.

I was happy to get the fact the that she is indeed a girl confirmed this week. Even though the shot at the big u/s was pretty clear, I still liked having it verified a second time. Now I feel comfortable taking tags off things and washing stuff.

The weather is the same here today so I'm hoping that it clears up in both places.

I've never been to Louisville so I'd love some suggestions for dinner!!  We love about everything. :)  Have fun on your date. :)

I'm glad the acupuncturist helped you!!

  • Hello Ladies...gosh everyone on here seems so much farther along than me!

Nothing new here to report except that for the past week I've been feeling lots of stretching and pulling feelings down south...hoping that means LO is growing and soon I will have a bump.   Also - still waiting to feel some flutters or something!

Pumpkin carving party tomorrow and then Sunday starting to clear out the office and get it ready to be painted.  I know its early but DH & I are both procrastinators in the worst way & I want to get started while I physically still can!   ha ha ha!

    Have a great w/e everyone!

  • I just had to go in for a unexpected check up on Wed, everything seems to be normal though. Next Friday, is hopefully when I found out if it is a boy or girl and more importantly that all things are normal. I wish I could sleep better.

I hope everyone has a terrific weekend.

  • Hi! Baby-wise, it's been a quiet week - no news, just growing. I have an appt next week, so that will be good. I get to book the c/section date and I need another ultrasound for the final few pics. Libby spent the 'big u/s' with her butt down and her legs crossed, so they did not get shots of her kidneys or full spine. SHe looks great, and it's just another opportunity to see her, so I'm not complaining Smile

It's been a busy week - dh and I are going away at the beginning of november, and I had to do stuff like order a maternity bathing suit online, and get clothes for a couple of events.

I hope the weekend is a bit more relaxed - we have no real plans and nothing we need to do.

    Have a great weekend, everyone!

  • Not too much new here.  I think that maybe baby had turned head down (LO's been transverse the whole time) I had a lot of what I can only assume is "lightening vag" last night. Weird, internal pain that is very intense, but just for four or five seconds then wham! it's gone again.

The Dr. tried to palpate for position on Wednesday, but she said my uterus is too strong for her to tell. ?!?! huh?!?!  I guess that's a good thing in the long run?  My guess would have been too much "padding" on the outside to tell... lol

Hoping and praying that she orders another u/s next time and that if we have one that LO cooperates and shows off it's bits.  I have such a strong feeling that it's a girl, but I try not to get too attached to the idea just in case.

Off to my parents with my daughter tonight for my shower tomorrow.  The boys don't understand why they can't come, but don't mind too much since I promised to bring back cake Smile

  • All is well here.  We found out last week that we're having a boy (Shannon, please add that, thanks!) and we're still spreading the word.

Yesterday I think I overdid it pulling weeds in the yard and flowerbeds because I had some weird pains going on last night, but I just rested all evening and I'm fine now.

I have a huge bump already.  I've only gained 7 pounds, but it's all up front! The rest of my body looks exactly the same.  I'm really enjoying my bump, I get such a kick out of it and DH catches me giggling at my reflection sometimes.  Sometimes it's hard to believe I'm actually pregnant.  It's such a cool thing!

  • Hi Ladies!

Shannon - very cool that you have the big u/s to look forward to :)  I'm due just about the same time as you.  We had an u/s early because I didn't do a lot of other early testing, so they offered us an u/s early with a perinatologist to look for structural issues.  Our AFP tests came back negative, so we likely won't do an amnio.  But we were able to find out that he's a boy.  Very cool.

I waddled a half marathon on Sunday and felt good - but the little guy wanted to tinkle at 5 porta potties.  But I had so much fun.  And we convinced dad to let us go to REI after the race and buy the running stroller I've had my eye on.

Our nursery furniture (dresser and bookshelf/toybox) came yesterday also since we bought floor models.  They were on 50% discount.

I'm still not sure I'm feeling movement, though.  I think I felt something last night while we were watching tv, but not sure.  We'll see.  Next appt is about 1.5 weeks away.

    Hope you're all doing well!

  • Nothing exciting to report here. Baby's been slowly dropping and still kicking up a huge storm, but as of Monday, no dilation yet or anything.

Doc is on vacation this weekend so kiddo has strict orders to stay put so that she can be there when the time comes.

I'm a huge couch potato now.  Biggest plan for the day is to get a haircut.  If I have the ambition to move.    And I WILL be wearing my pj pants everywhere now.  Nothing else is comfortable.

  • I have had a lot of braxton hicks contractions and a few that feel more real.

I teach middle school and the kids have been fascinated by my whole pregnancy, but it was worse today for some reason.   The shirt I was wearing was a tad bit snug and the girls just couldn't resist touching it. Although I have to say they all asked first, which is more that I can say for some grown-ups.

  • Hi Ladies....I can't believe I'm 38 weeks tomorrow.  I've had a very bad cold the past week, which is finally easing up.  I'm down to just a cough and a bit of a stuffy nose.  This week was my first week of mat leave.  It ended up being a good thing that I decided to take it a few weeks early because there is no way I could have made it thru a workday with this cold.

Saw the doc for 37 wk appt on Tuesday.  Gained another lb...up 18 total so far (all baby).  Baby is growing like a bad weed, right on target.  Doc did the GBS test which was nothing for those who haven't had it done yet.  It took less that a minute and was WAY less invasive than a pap.  I will start with my internals next week.

I am becoming super emotional.  I can't look at other babies without crying...I just want to meet my LO so badly.  I want to see what he looks like.  I had to go and get my mom a bday card and my DH an anniversary card (we'll be married 1 yr Nov 1) and I couldn't read more than two cards without bursting into tears.   I feel ridiculous!  I know I shouldn't complain because I have had a very easy pregnancy, but I am just about at my limit now.  My tail bone/pelvis/sacrum and hips are so sore I can hardly stand it.  I can't sleep at night, rolling over and getting out of bed to pee are excrutiating now.  I have a chat with the LO every night telling him that mommy and daddy and all his grandparents are really excited to meet him, so he can vacate the premisis whenever he is ready.  We are ready!

Hope everyone has a good week!  Catch up with you all Friday if not before.

  • Hello!  I haven't been around too much lately ... busy, busy, busy!  My 3 year old started pre-school twice a week and also decided that she won't nap anymore.  So that means not as much down time for me now.  I do make sure I'm off my feet and relaxing for at least 30-60 minutes each nap (I'll have a cup of coffee and give her milk in a coffee cup) but instead of nesting the whole time I've been working on my new business venture.  I'm going to be renting stork signs (announcing new births) in my local county.  It's been really fun to start making contacts and get ready to give this my all and I've been focusing on laying the groundwork before the baby arrives so I can just sit back for a few months once he is here.

I'm also getting to know my new area (we moved from NJ to PA in July) and I made a really great friend with kids the same age as mine (our daughters are in pre-school together) so that has been wonderful.  It's so nice to have an adult that I really enjoy talking to around when doing things with the kids and she's a SAHM like me so it's perfect!

Pregnancy-wise things are going great too.  I'm in the third trimester now and starting to feel like it some of the time and other times I get so busy I'll forget I'm even pregnant at all.  :)  Nothing exciting to report so I think that is a good thing!

I hope everyone is doing great!!

  • well today is my official due date!  I am ready for this baby to come on out and show us his/her face!!  Big Smile

....had my first baby dream and it was a boy---- hopefully we will get to know for sure soon~   have another check-up on monday if no baby by then.  the doc will schedule me for an induction on Nov 2nd.  C'mon baby, let's go!

  • I'm good.  This coming week we have a repeat big u/s AND a doctor's appt.  I think I'm finally starting to show which is exciting.
  • I hit double digits this weekend! Also, I go for my GD test this week.Sad
  • I'm doing well and I think I am almost into the 3rd trimester now. I'm betting its going to get harder from here on out. I just got back today from a "babymoon" vacation to Bermuda with DH- heavenly. Next month we'll be doing childbirth classes, ordering nursery stuff, etc. I am definitely pretty bumped out now too (I took forever to show). Best wishes everyone!
In final 2 WW after 1st injectible IUI cycle with gonadotropins, Gonal-F. IUI was 9/23. DH will not do another cycle, so this is it for us. History: 6 pregnancies: 5 losses and one DD (born 1-30-2010). Last pregnancy (May 2012) ended in D&E at 9 weeks, testing showed male fetus with an extra 16th chromosone. Recurrent losses thought to be likely due to AMA (I'm 40).
