So I remarked about my chili and rice dinner plans and a few people started chiming in about how chili is bad for my baby. I'm not worried and I fully intend on giving in to my craving, just wondering if anyone else has heard this.
I think chili is fine. I can't think of a reason that it would be bad for the baby. But the last time I ate chili, I got sick and spent the night in the bathroom so no chili for me.
Why in the world would chili be bad? If you make it at home and know what you are putting in it how can it be bad? I don't get it. But now you've totally got me wanting chili!
Weird. I made chili for dinner tonight, and the thought of it being bad for the baby never crossed my mind. I get heartburn from water, so I'm at the point where I just eat what I want and chomp some Tums for dessert. I say eat your chili and ENJOY!

I can't imagine how it would be bad. It's meat, tomatoes and beans. It's been one of my constant cravings and I stop at Wendy's to pick some up after work like once a week LOL
I had some for dinner and I will do it again. I have no idea what would be bad about it. And I haven't been wanting meat much lately so this is one of the few ways I get protein.
Re: pregnancy and chili
What is wrong with chili? Those people are crazy! If nothing else it will def. help with the pregnancy constipation!
I am making chili tomorrow!
Chili is bad for your baby?
It might give you some heartburn, but I think that'd be about it. Plus, if it has beans in it, it's a good source of fiber!
How is beef with seasoning not good for a baby? I'm clueless on this one.

Great.

Ps. I'm off to enjoy my chili...with extra chili pepper!
I can't see how chili can be bad for the baby. However, when I eat chili, it's bad for everyone else.
::checking off "requisite fart joke" from today's to-do list::
Well, they say that eating spicy foods can help bring on labor, so maybe they're concerned that you'll go into preterm labor?
I say enjoy your chili!
I've eaten more Frito Pie in the last month... I get wicked heartburn every time. And it's so worth it.
