Hi Ladies
I'm very new here after spending most time on the IF board. Yesterday at 5 weeks and 5 days we had our first ultrasound and saw 2 gestational sacks and 2 yolk sacks. Hopefully next week we will see the heartbeats. While I am still very early I have some questions about a twin pregnancy I was hoping to get help on.
I am a smaller person, about 5'2" and 110lbs. Is there anyone else who is petite and had multiples? Does that put me at more risk? Does that mean I am more likely have a c-section or do they often recommend it for multiples regardless?
Just in general any advice you have is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Re: New here & question about being petite and multiples
i am the opposite of petite, but i just wanted to say that size really isn't that big of a factor. you're not THAT tiny (i mean, you're over 5'!) and i know there are plenty of mamas smaller than you that have carried more than twins successfully.
by the way, congrats and welcome!

I am 3 inches taller then you and was about 10 lbs more than you when I became pregnant (so not exactly the same) but I carried these babies fine. I did put on a lot of weight and most of it is still here but I felt like it helped my babies and I was able to carry them pretty far.
You will be fine! Congrats and good luck!!!

I am 5'5 and 110 pounds. I just got back from my ultrasound (I'll post the details in a minute) and so far so good. I haven't had any problems as of yet and my Dr. doesn't think it is a problem. I have two children already and they were 8 pound babies and I had both vaginally and they went 40 weeks so I feel that is at least a good track record.
I said all that to say this, I think you'll be just fine. Good luck and congrats.
Congrats and welcome! My stats pre-preg were almost the same as yours. I had the easiest pregnancy ever with no complications at all and gained 53lbs. I delivered at 36w4d, my water broke the night before and the boys weighed 6lbs 11oz and 6lbs 3oz..
My OB was okay with any way I wanted to deliver as long as they were head down or mostly head down. I had a c-sec, but only because Baby A was head down but sideways and wouldn't move after 9 hours.
Have a happy and healthy and as close to 9 months as possible.
First of all welcome
Second, my great grandma was about 4'11" and delivered an 11 pound baby boy vaginally at home, so you should be just fine Good luck with your next ultrasound, seeing the heartbeats is amazing

Ditto this. I am 4'10'' and 93 lbs pre-pregnancy (and thankfully again 6 months postpartum). I did have PTL issues but I know plenty of people who went into PTL and were not petite! I carried my twins to 36w0d. Baby A was breech and Baby B was footling breech so I had a mandated c-section by positioning.
They arrived at 36 weeks after PTL and bedrest for 14 weeks.
