Parenting after a Loss

Random stupid question

So this might sound really dumb, and I have no idea what made me think of it - but once you go into labor and start having contractions, do you still feel the baby move? I don't mean when you're full on in pushing mode, but early on when you just start to notice the contractions - will you still feel movement too?

Re: Random stupid question

  • Hmmmm. Good question, but I don't remember haha! I don't think I felt her, but then I was focused on breathing through the pain

  • I felt her plenty when the contractions were mild, but then I don't remember feeling her when they got bad.  lol that didn't last long because I got an epi soon there after.  I think that you are so focused on other things at that point that you don't notice it.

  • You know, that's a good question!  I think I felt some movements when the contractions weren't too bad yet...but after that I don't really remember.  I think, like someone else said, you get so focused on the contractions and everything else that you don't notice movements as much.

  • I honestly can't remember! I agree with pp though, you get so focused on the contraction that you forget about movement!

Awwww, thanks! I should really update that pic, but she looks the same still just cuter haha :)  You are sooooo close, not much longer until you get to meet your own cutie pie!!!

  • Nope, the baby stops moving once you are in labor. (someone probably answered that already, I didn't even look down first...) I remember being worried that I could not feel him moving anymore
  • I honestly don't remember!  I didn't have any contractions until my water broke.
