LOL! Gosh I've been lucky to avoid this all my life! But, I finally got called and I'm stuck here. They are playing some football movie and everyone here is bored beyond belief! Ugh.

So, what's new?

    I've been called once when I was in college. I sent in an exemption since I was 300 miles away at school.  I wouldnt mind jury duty.  Can't you read a book? That sounds heavenly...

    Yes, I guess it could be worse. Although they do have free wi-fi here so that's a maaaaaajor plus!

    Reading would be difficult since they are playing a movie really loudly in this room for everyone else.

    I think the worst part is that I'm not paid to be here ($15 per day by the court, only IF you are placed on a trial. So far, none of us have earned a cent. LOL!) and I'm having to use my vacation days at work to be here. I would rather be at home, cleaning out our office! LOL!

    That's odd they make you use vacation days. The hospital I used to work at had a certain number of days you could use for jury duty. And some people even got excused bc they told them they were a nurse. Something about already doing your civic duty. :)

    Yeah, well, when I was a trauma RN, they excused me for years! LOL! Hence the reason why today is my 1st time ever serving. I've gotten away with it for 14 years. Pretty good.

    Can I tell you how jealous I am?! I have always wanted to be on a jury. I was called up for it a few months ago (federal trial!) but DH is a cop and they didn't want me.

    We're getting ready to go to the zoo. I had promised DD we'd go to the pumpkin patch today, but it turns out that they're closed on weekdays. Ooops. Good thing I checked the Web site before driving all the way there.

    I've been here 3 hours and we've heard speaker after speaker trying to convince us as to why we should "volunteer" to be jurors in the future (inbtw the football movie they are showing). If it was like, show up, go into a court room, start talking about a case. That might be fun. My butt is aching from sitting so long;) And the vending machine is looking gourmet at this point! I don't eat chips and such usually, but obviously I will be filling-up on those yummies today. 

    The zoo! How fun!! We have a local (tiny) zoo in a nearby city (very urban!) and I was thinking of taking DD there once to see if it was worth it to get a membership. I'm off on Mondays so that could be our zoo day 1-2 times a month:)
