We have a first name... any help with a middle?

My husband and I really like the name Gus. Everyone says it is a "name my son will regret." What do you think? Any help with a middle name? Thanks!

I know a Gus, and he's pretty cool. He is a DJ lol For middle names we've always recycled family names...are there any names in your family that you really like or would want to pass on?

It would have to be something really simple like Alan or something like that. I seem to always suggest that when someone asks these questions, LOL.

Is that short for Augustus? When I hear gus, i think of augustus galoop on willie wonka and the fat chubby mouse on cinderella. Sorry, it is not my favorite but if you are going to have it short for Augustus, i like Michael for a middle name. Sorry i can't help more.

I love Gus! I would give him a more conventional middle name, though, just in case he doesn't like Gus.

Gus William, Gus Jonathon, Gus Stephen, Gus Anthony, Gus Michael, Gus Matthew. I really like Gus Michael.

We call my son Gus as a nickname. His first name has nothing to do with it. It just happened one day when he was a newborn that we called him "Tuckered Gus" cause he was so tired. Then it became "Smelly Gus" when he needed a change. And 'Fussy Gus' when he was cranky. Now it's just Gus.

If you love it, don't listen to what other people 'think' about the name! But you can always use it as a nickname too!

etc. and call him Gus.

Or Angus...just call him Gus. Angus is a more traditional scottish name, but it might got better with middle names.

I like Gus. I agree with going somewhat traditional for the middle name, or using a family name. Ideas...William, James, Jackson, Alexander...

Gus as a nickname is cute but if it were me, I'd pick a name that could be shortened to Gus so your child has options. August is a very cool name and Gus is an obvious nickname. If you do go with Gus, I'd pick something more traditional and maybe 2 or more syllables so it balances out.
