  I think I prefer the one on the left, especially since it's blackout. I've heard blackout curtains really help when the baby gets a little older for nap time.

  Use the blackouts, trust me, my boys are 4 and 1 and we do not know what we would do without them.

  I like the ones on the right. Mainly becuase I like cotton as opposed to polyester.

  I prefer cotton too, but having said that, the left works better esthetically and practicality wise..

  Left is what I'd choose from the two.

  Thanks for all your opinions!

  I am hoping we get a sunny day here soon so I can see the difference with the *blackout* feature. I think the left will keep out more light and if so I'm going to go with that, but its hard to tell when its been rainy and cloudy out all week.

  The ones on the right are cotton. 

  The color is practically the same the but the  fabric makes the polyester ones look shiner while the cotton ones look a little more like linen.

  The other difference is that they hang different ways (top of the right there is that gap, while on the left the valance still hangs further down but that curtain hangs higher so there isn't a gap.

  I agree that the left sound/look best.

  But i wanted to know where you got your curtains from? I have been trying to find edged valances like that, only in sage/chocolate.

  The valances were part of a 9 piece set by Jo Jo Beddings that I found on ebay brand new for $50 + $20 shipping. It was called Blue and Brown Hotel Bedding. The chocolate curtains on the left are from Walmart and they were online only but I got them shipped to the store for free and then picked them up. They are called Madison Room Darkening Panels in Chocolate.

  By the way- I found the double curtain rods in espresso at Bed Bath and Beyond (it took forever to find a double curtain rod that went with the room)!
