Pregnant after 35

Does pregnancy make your thighs bigger?

I don't recall ever having my thighs flop together quite so much!  I'm exercising regularly and haven't gained much weight so far, so I don't know how this happened!

  • lol.. well it does make your hips spread, and I do gain weight all over.  The good news is, that the weight goes away after your LO is here.

  • Well it certainly doesn't make them smaller! Pregnancy definitely made my bigger....or the eating done during pregnancy has anyway.
  • I have a tendency to carry my weight in my thighs (damn genetics...).  Now, whether their "growth" has been due to the pregnancy, or the fact that we got married two weeks before conceiving and I TOTALLY pigged out for about two weeks straight, I don't know.  Probably a combination of both...but it's gotten to the point where I now have chubby knees....that sux...

  • I have to ask - are you serious??

  • Yes, yes and yes! :o(  My weight when I delivered was only 15 pounds above my pre-pregnancy weight and after I delivered and lost the water weight (I know it was water weight because I was losing several pounds a day!) I was actually 15 pounds lighter than before I was pregnant. However, when I was pregnant, my hips and to a lesser extent my thighs didn't fit into my regular jeans even though it was "all baby" and water retention.

On a positive note - my hips and thighs are now no worse for wear. Everything went back to the way it was before.

Sorry but I have to say "ditto"

  • If it made your thighs smaller - I think that I would have done this sooner.
