3rd Trimester

Ladies who sit at a desk all day...

...what are your best tricks to stay comfy? I know I'm still 2 days from official "3rd tri" status, but I look like a wiggly 3-yr old at my desk because I'm starting to have to move around so often! Does getting a stool to put your feet up on help?

  • I sit on a boppy which helps but I am most comfortable when I sit on one of my legs. It takes the pressure off of my tailbone.

  • Back when I first got my BFP, I fell and hurt my tailbone.  It was sore for a few weeks, so I brought a pillow to work to sit on.  Well, I tried taking it away one day, and that made it worse.  So, I still sit on my pillow.  But, that's about it, and I am pretty uncomfortable for most of the day!  I was thinking about getting a footstool, that might help.

    althought yesterday I was getting major hip pain, I think I going to have to start getting up and moving around more.  Like, going for a walk or something.

  • I sit indian style on my chair alot.
  • I sit with my feet elevated most times... and get up every 1/2 hour or so.

  • My chair reclines to about 45 degress so sometimes I will just set it back as I'm typing or doing whatever.  It seems to help a lot with the achiness in my ankles.  I used to have bad tailbone pain but that has seemed to stop.

  • I took 2 boxes of invoices (that we don't use anymore) and stuck them under my desk... but we have a really relaxed office (i bring my dog to work and so does my boss/owner) so i make extra trips to take the dogs out...?
  • I have a foot rest under my desk, I sit with an extra cushion on my chair and I stand up every 15 minutes or so to keep my back from aching.

  • I've got a good office chair, so all I'm doing these days is propping my feet up on empty copier paper boxes under my desk.  Wink  They're free and it helps to keep the blood from pooling in my feet.

  • I have a stool that helps.  Also, sometimes I take my shoes off and sit "indian style" in my chair and that feels better too.

  • I can't use any type of stool because I have a wrap around desk and I use all sides of it throughout the day.  I just try to get up and walk around as often as possible.  It helps but I have been having some major hip pain the past couple weeks and my desk chair isn't helping.

  • I "borrowed" a fancy executive chair from a conference room and I sit with my feet on a crate under my desk so they are level with my hips.

    I also had one of those homedics vibrating chair things, which helped with my sore bum, but it broke Crying

  • My stability ball became my best friend.  I also had a foot stool that I could prop my feet up on.
  • I prop my feet up as well and sometimes I sit indian style of on one of my legs in my chair.

  • I TRY to sit up straight and lean forward every now and then to be able to breathe and to get rid of that pain in my ribs from sitting a certain way too long.  So I'm a wiggler too.

  • I moved my CPU in front of my chair and prop my feet on there. It's perfect!
