POLL - Where did you buy your LO's Halloween costume?

Last year when I was pregnant I was looking online and saw all sorts of cute costumes but I ended up buying Matteo's costume at Babies R Us.  Since I wasn't sure if he would even wear it on Halloween I didn't want to spend a ton.  It was $19.95 + tax which still isn't that cheap considering he will only wear it for a couple hours total.

Where did you buy your LO's costume and, if you don't mind sharing, how much did it cost?

  • Amazon, My Mom and I shared the cost and it was $40.00. Too much I know. I couldn't find one that was nicer quality for very cheap. It is really nice though and he has already worn it a handful of times for dress up. He will wear it to school, and to another event so he will get some wear out of it beyond the night of.

ETA: It was $40 total so I put in $20

  • I got N's Minnie Mouse costume at the Disney Store, it was on sale for $19.95 and the ears were another $7, so it was a pretty good price IMO.
  • I got C's costume this year at Old Navy.  It was on sale for $16.99 (reg $22.50) and I had a coupon for an additional 15% off so $14.45 plus tax.

  • Last year I overspent on the boys' costumes. I fell in love with the Peter Pan and Capt. Hook costumes at Disneyland. They didn't have the same ones at the Disney store so I paid money to get them from the park and shipped to me. Luckily they can still wear them if they want to play dress up.

This year I knew costumes would be tough to get on them. So I bought Handy Manny t-shirts at Disney store, already have jeans for them, and they will carry their assortment of Handy Manny tools. They will be going as the same thing this year, but I wanted it to be fun for them and not a fight. I think they'll like it. (t's were $12 each I believe)

  • I got Kyva's last year at ON for $4.99 on clearance after Halloween. It's the monkey costume that they have this year too.
