Running has been hard. I am still recovering from having the flu and then this weekend I was throwing up due to food poisoning or stomach flu? Not sure what is going on there.
Nov 8 is my 20 mile race
Dec 6 is my first marathon
Due to my injuries and still being sick, I am scared since I haven't been able to run much.
How is running going !? How was the race this weekend !? Race was good. I finished in 1hr 7min. (10k) I'm looking for a 1/2 thinking of the SF kaiser. I feel like it would be kinda cool to run a half before Logan turns 1. Pipe dream maybe.
Goal for running in the next few months !? Increase my distance of my long run on the weekends.
Congrats again to the graper stomp 1/2'ers . You guys are my heros!!
The race was great!! I had fun and felt really proud of myself for actually doing it!
I'm super sore today, so I'm going to wait until that calms down before I go for another run.
My goal for next month (San Jose Turkey Trot) is to shave 5 minutes off my 5K finish time. For those who are experienced, is that a reasonable goal? That would put my time at about 30 minutes even.
I'm on a running break.. my 2 half marathons were fabulous. trying to see if reducing my mileage and intensity each week will help me get pg.. people keep suggesting it might. i doubt it, but who knows, its worth a shot, right?
plus, i have so much going on with work right now, so its a nice break. still doing yoga 3 times/week and running a couple times a week.
i will still be doing the turkey trot in sj on turkey day, not sure yet if i'll do the 5k or 10k

The race this weekend was awesome! It looks like I finished in 2 hours 35 minutes, not bad for my first!! I am so proud of April, Erica and myself, we set a goal and WE DID IT!!!
I am going to take a few days off, I am very sore and I need to figure out what to do about my shoes. With the Super Feet I get really bad shin splints, without them I have really bad arch pain. I will be sad if I need new shoes already.
I am not ruling out doing another 1/2 sometime, but probably not for another year. I would love to do some 10Ks in the near future. I am hoping to keep my distance up, I love being able to easily run 5-6 miles when I go out.
Congrats to all the ladies who ran the Grape Stomp this weekend!!!

that is a great goal time. although I'll warn you that the SJ course is NOT the best, and there will likely be quite a few strollers and walkers, so running this race as a PR is a challenge. they did improve the course for this year.
if you really want to speed up, you should think about adding in some interval/speed training one day/week. when i did that, i knocked 6 mins off my time!

Ditto on the Turkey trot. I did it last year and it was horrible w/the kids and strollers. I did not achieve my PR at all.

Running has been going good. I ran faster with my jog stroller last week so my speed is getting back up. Unfortunately I didn't get any runs in this weekend and it's making me antsy.
My goal for the next few months is first get 68.16 more miles to make my 300 mile goal set this year. More is alway good too. Second, get faster again. I'm thinking of running the Kasier Half Marathon and hoping to get under 2 hours.

Like I've said before--I'm still in awe that I actually completed my first half marathon. I always said I wouldn't do it (or would only do the Disney one) but I did. I'm not as sore as I thought I'd be today (although on the course I thought I really injured myself). I had a finish time in my head and while I didn't meet it, I'm soooooooo happy I crossed that finish line. I hope to increase my speed over the next few months...oh and get some new snazzy shoes.

I'm down to running 2-3x a week around 2.5-3 miles each time. Its getting more and more difficult and lately I just haven't seemed to have the energy.
I'm hoping to continue running for at least another month, then I guess its the machines at the gym !
Congrats to everyone who did the race, sounds like it went so well !!!
