Well this is my 1st and suprisingly I'm not paranoid about anything. I still eat sushi (only from reputable restaurants) and won't touch a piece of steak thats well done (luckily I'm hating most meat right now). What I'm really curious about though is caffeine. I've never been a coffee drinker but I do love iced tea and still drink quite a bit of it.
So is this a bad thing and did anyone else drink alot of iced tea while pregnant?
Maybe I should just call the doc...
Re: Iced Tea Intake?
"The March of Dimes advises women to limit their caffeine intake to less than 200 mg per day"
https://www.cspinet.org/new/cafchart.htm (I love this website for amounts)
I posted a similar Q and nesties told me to keep it under 300 mg of caffeine per day. (I'd double check that # with your OB in case I have it wrong).
But I limit myself to one caffeinated coffee per day (and usually I go with decaf) and my midwife said that's just fine. When I asked her about caffeine she said the warnings are for people who chug mug after mug of coffee or tea topping 8 per day.
Her theory she repeats over and over is "Anything in moderation, nothing in excess."
H&H pregnancy to you!!
My doctor told me to limit caffeine to two 8 oz cups per day (easier to figure out that 250 mg or whatever)
I HAVE been having a lot of iced tea, although not every day, especially because it helps with my headaches
