Help with naps-Please

Hi,

My 2 month LO will not take a nap ,unless it is on me and it is making me go crazy.I am letting her do it, since she needs to nap.But I have to get her to nap in her crib, since I do not want myself to be in the same situation in 2 months or even one month.

If anyone has any ideas that would be great.

TIA

have you tried letting her nap in her bouncy seat or swing?

My Lo has a hard time napping in her crib but will sleep fine in her rocking chair so I let her do that.  I would think that anything that is not on you would be a step in the right direction

  • My LO naps in his swing during the day and sleeps just fine in his crib at night. Try putting her in a swing/bouncy seat after she is in a deep sleep.

  • Our LO likes to fall asleep being held but we have started moving her to the pack n play once she is asleep.  That way she is still learning to wake up on her own even if she needs some extra soothing to fall asleep.

  • This was me a month ago and I swaddle him when he starts to get sleepy..usually when he's whiney and rubbing his eyes, sway him to sleep, then pop him in the swing. I get a good hour to two hours this way, depending on the time of day. Good luck!

  • We tried that and she wakes up the minute you put her in the swing or bouncy seat.

I am having this same problem. Anytime I move her to the crib, bouncy seat or swing she wakes up and starts screaming. It sucks

  • Have your tried wearing her for naps? DS is napping on the Moby right now andI am totally hands free. He loves it and it is great for a "break" from holding him24/7.

That said, you cannot "spoil" her or make bad habits so just b/c she will only nap on your NOW doesn't = her doing it one month from now.

Weeks ago DS wouldn't sleep anywhere but against me in our bed,now he sleeps next to me in the co sleeper. He decided it was okay on his own.  He always wouldn't nap anywhere but on my chest or the Moby and now he will sometimes nap in the co sleeper (though they are shorter) and even swing.  They are so young and their "wants" are the same as their "needs" at this age.(ie: they are ALL needs). Let her sleep how she needs to.
