Well, MIL, technically, but she's my husband's mom, so anyway.
Last Christmas, Marion was three months old and we were going on our first trip back to visit family and trying to decide if we were staying at FIL or MIL's house. We decided to stay at FIL's house (mainly because of the king sized bed) and to our complete surprise, MIL said nada about it.
And MIL is bat *** crazy over us splitting time between her and FIL.
The reason she didn't put up a fight over us staying with FIL...she ran into step-MIL at their gym and said to step-MIL, direct quote,
"I don't know how you can let them stay at your house with the baby sleeping in the same bed as them. I know I just couldn't live with myself if they killed that baby in my house."

Nutter.

I agree. The only point of passing on something like that on is to stir up stuff.
Thus said, I think its awful that your MIL said such a thing, and its sad that she is worried about that.
