Hi girls! I am hoping you can help me. i had a quad screen blood test done and my down syndrome risk came back 1:129 so they sent me to a specialist for a level 2 ultra sound. I did that and they said nothing looked abnormal on my ultra sound but they would not increase or decrease my risk of downs. Now they are recommending doing a amino. Has anyone been in this scenario? Anyone else have bad numbers from the quad but ended up with good results? I dont think with my age being 27 and my ultrasound coming out perfect that i shoul dgo for teh amino but i wish my 1:129 would of changed for the better. I am not sure what to do now with my information.
Thanks in advance for all your help!!
Re: question from 2nd tri/level 2 ultrasound
I was quoted a 1:9 risk for Downs on quad screen. This after being told 1:500 after the nuchal translucency test in first trimester. The level 2 looked great, but they could only lessen that to 1:18. We did the amnio because I couldn't spend the whole rest worrying- I needed to know either way. Amnio was fine, and I have a gorgeous, healthy girl now!
Good luck!
I had a 1:91 of Trisomy 18 from the NT/1st tri scan. Nothing showed up on the U/S. We did the quad screen and it came back normal. Nothing showed up on that U/S either. They asked if we wanted to do an amnio - and we declined. I didn't want to risk a probably perfectly healthy baby miscarrying from the small small risk from the amnio. I quit worrying b/c it wouldn't do me any good. Yes it was in the back of my mind.
DD is perfectly healthy and fine.
Long story short: You have to go with your gut. GL.
