so with my first I was super strict about caffeine intake, cheeses, etc..
This time Im not so paranoid. i eat gorganzola, goat cheese, and feta all the time. I think its safe!
Im dying for some sushi rolls. spicy tuna. yum!!!
Is it really that bad to have one roll? I know its the fear of bacteria or food poisoning. But if its a place I eat at all time (pre-pregnancy) and I know its safe is it still too risky. In your opinion anyway.
Re: anyone eat sushi anyway
Ditto.
I have been eating blue cheese and cold cuts... but I would not be eating a spicy tuna roll - in my opinion that is a little overboard but to each their own.
I have had the calafornia rolls (the ones with crab) - or shall I say "fake sushi"... LOL. But I would stay away from the raw stuff.
Since your in chicago you should try House of Sushi and Noodles, its cute, little and always packed but its amazing, the prices for the buffet are cheap and its not the buffet were you go up and get ur food, you order what you want, as many rolls as you want and they make it fresh. mmmmmmmm the miami rolll is the best!

The cheeses probably are fine -- almost ALL cheeses available in the USA are pasteurized, so pose no risk. Doing some reading online, even most of the small-batch cheese-makers in this country use pasteurized milk for their product.
As for the sushi, that's a personal choice, of course. I'm only eating the cooked stuff right now, but there are enough choices that I don't feel slighted to have to wait several more months.
I eat it. I don't get gas station sushi, and 99.9% of sushi in America is flash frozen, killing the parasites anyway.
Plus it's delicious
I eat sushi, soft cheeses, medium rare steak, coffee and diet coke.
I go to a place called Samurai at least once a month, I just love it! I get sashimi and rolls and I've never gotten sick.
I also drink caffeine and eat cheese, rare steak, lunch meat, etc...
