Snarky and T-TTC

my belly button ring

I have to take if off tomorrow, and I can't decide whether I should think positive and leave it out. This seems like the right mindset and the right decision for someone of my age and belly state. But an unadorned belly button makes me sad.

Re: my belly button ring

  • I kept mine in. They were supposed to put a piece of tape over it but I don't think they did. I definitely had to take my tongue ring out for it though.

but fwiw, I was going to switch out my regular belly button ring for one of the pregnancy ones if I ever found myself KTFU. Not sure about my other piercings yet Wink

  • I took mine out when we started TTC.  It was weird at first, but now I am used to it.  Plus, I was 30 (with a growing gut) at the time and ready to let it go...

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

  • I let mine go before we even TTC.  It was uncomfortable cause I was gaining weight and my pants were getting tight.  The hole is still there if I wanted to put it back in, but 3 years later I have no desire to.

Huh. I am thinking about keeping my nose ring and the piercing in my cartilage in. I like my nose ring and am definitely not ready to give that up.

I had to have it out in case anything happened, they couldn't have any obstructions in my mouth. I put it right back in once we were done though.

  • Best of luck tomorrow Yogi!!  Fingers crossed that they get lots of good follies!!!  I took my belly button ring out when trying to conceive, but that is cause it had started to irritate me.  Never put it back.  I have several little hoop earrings, plus one cartilage one, that I never take off.  I asked my nurse if I had to for the ER, and she said no cause they cover my head with a paper cap anyway....

  • Good luck Yogi! How exciting! I need to be better about checking your blog - because it's private, it doesn't show in my Google Reader Crying
  • I had to take mine out for the lap and since the incision was in my belly button i think scar tissue covered up the hole because it wont go back in.

  • Good Luck tomorrow!

I don't want to take mine out either - not that anyone ever sees it or wants to see it.  I've just had it for 10 years and I'm not ready to let it go :)

  • my advice would be to take it out now.
