Hi Ladies,
I was just wondering if anyone has been able to receive the H1N1 Vaccine yet. Neither my OBGNY clinic, or family practice clinic has the shots yet. I just keep hearing all over the news about how serious H1N1 is for pregnant women and how they are in such a high risk category - but I can't find anywhere that has the shot. To make matters worse, in addition to being pregnant, I also take care of my mother who has cancer. She can't get find anywhere to get the shot either! If you can pass along any info. you have on where we can get ths shots that would be fantastic!
Re: H1N1 Vaccine
Park Nicollet has them for high risk. I just called and got an appt.
That's awesome, thanks! I'm calling now!

You will keep getting the busy signal- there are TONS of people calling since the fact that Park Nicollet got the vaccine made headlines on Sunday. I had to call the regular appointment line- I was on hold for about 20 minutes, but I finally got through.
I recommend trying that route instead... GL!
I don't know who can get the nasal spray. I know I can't because I have asthma, so I never looked any further into it. You could very possibly be right though
and it wouldn't surprise me.
My understanding is that pregnant women can't get the nasal spray because it's live, where the shot is an inactive strain.

So Park Nicollet's special flu hotline is now out of service. I called the regular appointment line and they said that I would have to talk to the flu hotline which is out of service. UGH!
I also called the MN Dept of Health which said that they don't have a listing of the clinics who received it.
Does anybody know anywhere else to get the H1N1 vaccine?

I just called Park Nicollet 1230PM 10/27/09 and they are NO longer taking appointments for H1N1 vaccine. I'm a first responder and pregnant and can't find any place to get the shot. So frustrating!
I've been told pregnant women are NOT to take the spray as it is the live virus.
I was told to email flushot@parknicollet.com Which I did yesterday and haven't heard anything back but was told "your on the list."
I am having the same issue. I'm just hoping my OBGYN clinic gets it soon. It's very frustrating that they are pounding the headlines creating all this fear and then when you try to go and get the vaccine, you can't.
Hopefully you've been able to find a source, but I just thought I'd share...
I got the H1N1 at Fairview Riverside Women's Clinic on Tuesday. I didn't think to ask how many doses they had or whether it was just for current patients. But it might be worth a shot! (Oof, sorry about the pun!)
I also don't know how helpful this would be, but when my clinic ran out of the thimerosal-free seasonal flu shot last month, I called my county (Anoka) and was able to get in one of their flu shot clinics, even though I have private insurance. The county Health Department staff were knowledgeable and seemed really concerned about getting pregnant women vaccinated! They might have better local information about where to get shots than they have at the state level.
Good luck, and stay healthy!
