Injection ladies...

Last night when my alarm went off for my evening injection, my husband announced "you need a shot."  My first thought was tequila.  Then I realized that he meant I needed a lovenox shot.  I would have much rather had the first!  I am sick of the shots and thought you other ladies who feel this way would enjoy my thoughts!  Whatever it takes for baby to be healthy!

Anyone else have this thought??

Re: Injection ladies...

  • I'm definitely getting tired of them but it's not that bad. I'd much rather have the tequila though!

  • Tonight is my last lovenox shot before I start the heparin. I'm not looking forward to having to draw up the heparin. Right now, I have 2 shots per day of lovenox (.4 ml each). the heparin shots are all 1 ml. yuck.
    Married 4/12/08 DS born 11/17/2009 via c-section at 39 weeks. 11/12/2011 BFP #2!! m/c 7w5d. 2/28/2012 BFP #3 Beta #1-12dpo = 18; Beta #2-16dpo = 185; Beta #3-18dpo = 505. EDD 11/10/2012. Ectopic discovered at 5w4d. D&C followed by methotrexate.
  • I'm not on lovenox, but the insulin injections 3x a day are no fun either!

I'm not even thinking about alcohol since I'm not much of a drinker.  I'm drooling over simple things like bread, pasta, and cake!  I miss carbs and sugar.

  • I had to do 100mg shots twice a day. The needles and doses were big! Now I am on 80mg shots twice a day until they regulate my Coumadin and they are sooo much easier than the 100mg shots. Way smaller. I never switched to heparin shots... just the IV drip before delivery.
  • I'm only 10w in, but I can only imagine that how much I hate the shots now will only increase as the months pass.  Thanks for the smile.  And good luck -- you're almost there!

  • Oh do I hear ya!  Between the Lovenox, P17, blood tests, weekly ultrasounds (sometimes 3 in the same visit), I am so sick of being poked and prodded.  I think my husband was hoping we may have 3, but I told him this is it.  I refuse to put myself and my body through all of this again.  However, I totally agree, I would do anything to make sure this baby is as healthy as can be.  And I feel guilty even complaining!
  • I was just thinking this morning how these shots are going to get old, quick.  I can't imagine how I will feel towards the end.  Well, I guess I will just be glad everything is still well and I am still taking shots, because that will mean baby is fine, but I am sure I will not be sad to say Good-bye to the twice daily injections.
