Anyone NOT having a shower?

in 2nd Trimester
Both of my SIL's want to throw me separate showers b/c they don't know each other, but I don't want one at all. I don't know very many people around here so I think it will be a bust and I also don't really like being the center of attention. Anyone else not having one or don't want one?

    At this point, I don't plan on having a shower.  I also dont' like being the center of attention and I just feel awkward during htose types of things.  Plus, family and close friends will purchase things for the baby any way without having a shower.

    Nope, I live in Britain and they're not really done over here.  I know my mom and family/friends in America would like to do something, but really it would just be sending gifts in the mail which isn't very "showery", and feels a bit greedy to me.  I don't mind not having one at all.  If you don't want a shower just politely decline their offers.

    I'm not having a shower.  We moved this year for my work and have no family nearby.  We just plan on purchasing what we need and I'm sure we'll get a few random things here and there from friends and family.

    None here.  But this is my second boy so we really don't need anything.

    I'm probably not. This is #2 for me, so my shower days are OVER. My g/f's may give me a diaper party though.

    I'm not having one....well that I know of....no one has offered so that is what I am assuming.

    I probably won't.  We moved to CA a little over a year ago from the east coast (Navy), and I really don't have but one or two friends here.  I was thinking my Mom might do one when I'm back home at Christmas, but my Dad just had surgery for cancer last week and now will be doing chemo while we're home.  I don't want her to attempt a shower on top of that.

    No shower for me...it's a superstitious thing in my religion....not to prepare before the baby comes if at all possible...

    I don't want one either. I HATE being the center of attention, but I also don't like the idea of inviting people to something to bring gifts. I had one for my wedding b/c my mom insisted upon it. But for this, she says it's up to me. However, everyone is telling me I have to have one. I keep saying, no I don't and I don't want one. I think people are going to buy stuff for the baby anyway, they already have and I'm only 16 weeks so I'm not too worried about needing stuff. If I don't get a lot of stuff, that's fine with me, we'll just buy it ourselves.
