Low fetal heartbeat at 6w1d

Hello ladies,

I am hoping you can help me stay positive. I went to the doctor last week and had my first ultra sound. Everything looked ok and I was measuring around 6 weeks and 1 day.  But the heartbeat was low at 76 bpm.  They told me that this can be common in early pregnancy and to come back next week for a follow up ultra sounds as they want to see the heartbeat get over 100.  At first I didn't worry too much but then I started looking things up online and now I am getting nervous. I am hoping you can share any success stories with me of a low fetal heartbeat where everything turned out ok. This will be a hard week for me to get through (I go in Thursday) and need to stay positive.  So if you could share your success stories I would truly appreciate it!!

    I don't have a success story, but I do hear of many women that go in (and mind you 6w1 day is very early) to see the baby's heartbeat and it is slow because it just started beating.

    A lot of times they can't even detect a HB at 6 weeks so try not to worry. Like PPs said it JUST started beating.   I'm sure it will be fine when you go back.  GL!

    I had a 6w ultrasound due to some very very light spotting.  They found the heartbeat but I was also told it was low (93 bpm).  When I went back about 10 days later it was 142 and a week after that it was 158.  So dont stress out too much yet.  There is always hope.

    At my 1st ultrasound I measured 5w6d and HB was 97.  OB said it was normal for it to be slow at that point since it had just started beating.  I went for a f/u ultrasound at 8 weeks, and HB was 167.  Early on, just a few days can make a big difference in development...
