I will be relocating to SA finally!!! We are currently in Corpus Christi. I am an L&D RN and my DH is about to graduate from pharmacy school. I am so nervous about starting over with a job/friends/OB/childcare,etc!!!
We are buying a house just north of 1604 and off Huebner

We close no later than Nov. 20th! However, we won't be "oficially" movin until march when DH is done with his rotations. So we have the holiday season to slowly move things, build a fence and list our house

It seems like North Central Baptist is the closest hosptial. Any comments on it?
Any suggestions on OB's at Women Partner? From looking online at their website I am liking Dr. Novak and Dr. Villa-Olvera.
For childcare, it looks like the closest option is Concordia Luthern Church. Anyone use this church for childcare? The price seems kind of high, but it may just be the going rate in SA (I don't know).
TIA for any info!!
Re: Relocating to SA...
Hi and welcome! You're moving to a great area... I live near there and another "bumpie" does too! I delivered at NCB (it was great; I didn't want to leave!!) My obgyn is Dr. Farhart.. I had no issues whatsoever with him; however I also had a very uneventful pregnancy. ne-obgyn.com is their website.
I've heard great things about Concordia; I am part of a moms group there. For where you'll be living, the location is ideal. My dd attends Mother's Day Out at Harvest off of 1604 near 281. I just needed 2 days a week and they fit the bill for me.
GL with your move. You'll love SA!
Hi! Sounds like you are pretty close to where a bunch of us live! When you get settled in, you'll have to come to one of our bunco games so you can meet some people in SA!
NCB is a great hospital. I wish I could have delivered there (DH is a resident in the military so I had to deliver and Wilford Hall). Concordia for child care is great, but you need to get on the waitlist ASAP. If you aren't a member of the church, you might be on the waitlist for a while. The moms group there is great if you are interested.
There are several daycares around there, Primrose (Huebner), KidsrKids (Huebner/Bitters) are two. Concordia was pretty reasonably priced compared to Primrose and when I checked KidsrKids was like 40 less than Primrose.
The neighborhood is the Renassaince at the Vineyards. Can't permantly move in until March. We will slowly start moving things up there over the holidays.
I talked to Concordia and they told me about the waitlist. I want to tour it 1st before placing her on it. The hard part is I won't know my work hours or DH's work hours yet, which makes it hard to start planning for childcare.
Welcome to the Vineyard! I live over in Napa Forest across Huebner (where the Vineyard Rec Center is located). I replied to your post about childcare to talk about Concordia. It is only slightly more expensive than the other places nearby, and cheaper than the places in Stone Oak. It is on the pricey side for San Antonio, but that is true for most things on this side of town.
