DH and I have our IVF class early this week and my next cycle was scheduled to start the day of the class or a couple days after..... well, it started today. I don't have my protocol/calendar yet, but I'm assuming I'll go on BCP for a few weeks.
I guess this is a very long way to ask - what cycle day did you start BC before your IVF cycle, and do you think if I call tomorrow it'll still be early enough to start? (can you tell I'm freaking out? I feel like we have been waiting so long, I don't want to have to wait another month!)
Re: Newb IVF question
I always started my BCP really late in my cycle (I am anovulatory) so my situation is different. I would call today and leave a message, but I am sure if you talk to them tomorrow that will be fine too!
GL!
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
I started my BCP on CD3. What CD will your appointment be on?
If it is still early in your cycle I am sure that they will be able to still start you on BCP.
I too am annovulatory and my RE would have been able to start me on any CD day, but miraculously my appointment ended up landing on CD 3. (It was the first time that I actually start AF unmedicated!!)
Good luck!!!!
Our class will end up being on CD 3. I think we'll get our calendar and learn what our protocol is then.
Great!!!
It looks like everything should work out for you. This is exactly what happened to me. We went that day and I told my nurse that I was on CD 3, so she called in a prescription to my pharmacy and I was able to pick them up on the way home. It actually was a great day to go for our consult because she was able to give us our entire calendar with all the tentative dates.
I like to think it is a good sign that AF came when she did, so hopefully it is a good sign for you too!
I would call today and leave a message just in case.
Some IVF protocols don't include BCPs either. I'm not on them. I just start Lupron on CD21.
Good luck!
