Anyone else's DH think it's "weird"...

I was telling my DH about how I have been feeling movement and he expressed that he thought it was weird. He didn't say that he did not want me to tell him any more when I feel it but it kind of makes me sad that he gets freaked out by it. Not the reaction that I was expecting but it explains why he was not 'all over the belly' with our DS like most DH's are.?I am disappointed but hoping he comes around...?

  • I thought it was weird!

i think it's a totally normal reaction - it IS a bit strange!

  • I think it's strange too! Although I've been describing it as creepy! My DH is a doctor and he also thinks its strange. He was kind of standoffish about a lot of it too initially, but now that I'm getting bigger, the kicks stronger, and the time til we meet them sooner, he's much more interested in feeling them. Give your DH time.
  • I thought it was a bit weird too - especially with the twins, since there was movement all over...but, once they get bigger and you don't feel much - that will REALLY be weird.  He'll probably come around, maybe it just hasn't hit him yet.
  • My hubby didn't say it was weird, but I was really eager for him to feel it. ?He has literally felt once and didn't seem all that interested. ?It was disappointing to me, but I think it is just really different for men. ?I am hoping that he will "get it" when they arrive. ?
  • MY hubby thinks it's weird too. I was so disapointed, but like you it explained why he wasn't interested in my belly. It hasn't really gotten better, but I've gotten used to it, and I still tell him what's going on in there so that he still feels like a part of all this. Like the PP I hope that he will get it once they arrive.
  • My husband also thought it was weird/freaky, but he thought it was cool, too.  I think at first he was scared b/c the movement made it "real."
  • My DH loved it. He is VERY hard to weird out though.

  • It freaks my DH out too. My one daughter is a wiseguy and will stick her foot out of my belly and when i touch her to find the spot & show her daddy she pulls it back in!

haha!  exactly this!  My DH watches the SciFi channel all of the time so I thought he would love it but he hated it.  it freaked him out!

At first I was upset about it (hormones) but then I realized its not our babies he doesn't like - just my crazy stomach.

We did take video of the craziness at the end, where it looked like they were going to bust out.

  • I think it is totally weird also, but not in a bad way.  Weird doesn't equal bad.

It is sci-fi-ish.  Kind of like the moview alien, where there is something with a mind of its own inside of you.  Cool and weird at the same time.  Give your DH the benefit of the doubt.
