2nd Trimester

Need paint opinions...please help :)

So we started on the nursery room today...YAY!  We're undecided on one thing, though, and I was hoping I could get your opinions on what you think would look best.  We're painting the whole room a light blue.  About 1/3 up the wall from the floor, there will be a horizontal piece of moulding (think chair-rail-ish).  All trim including moulding will be white.  Under the moulding, we want to do vertical stripes...this is where we can't decide.  We're looking at three options:

1.  Alternating stripes of the light blue and choco brown, equal size.
2.  Alternating stripes of light blue/choco brown/sage-ish green (accent color in bedding/decor)...imagine 1-2 ft of blue, thin green, wide brown, thin green...repeat pattern.
3.  Alternating stripes of blue/choco/sage, equal size.

I'm worried about options 2/3 looking busy, but like the idea of doing something with the green...what do you guys think?  Any other vertical stripe ideas?????  We're not doing the stripes until tomorrow, so we still have some time to decide...thanks so much for your advice, I'm horrible with things like this!

  • I like the idea of altenating the light blue and chocolate brown Smile Good luck!

Blanket is a solid light blue, same color as paint, with a small classic pooh embroidered in one of the corners (no pic/link).  No bumper.

  • How about light blue top half, choc brown bottom half and find a cute sagey green border to split the two? I think with all the stripes, it would look too busy.

  • I think for your strips you will want to keep it to two colors. Otherwise you may have a lot going on. Perhaps you could use the green in different accent pieces.

  • I think you should keep the the strips all one color, the choco brown, otherwise it just gets too busy for a babys room.  But I like the idea of light blue on top and the white trim border in the middle.  You can always accent the room with a sage color lamp, rug, pictures on the walls and so on.
