Sitting up...?

Whenever DS is lying on his back, he tries to sit up - he literally looks like he's doing a sit-up, without his knees bent.  He gets about halfway up, then tries to push up the rest of the way with his elbows.  I've never seen a LO try to sit up that way, is that the way they usually do it?  I figured he would turn onto his side and push up that way.

    DS just started to tripod yesterday & only when I place him that way so no advice..

    Did look alikes or eyes win for potw?

    Jacob does this too.  Especially if he's propped up on his boppy.

    He only gets about an inch or two though.

    That sounds like what Ry does. He hasn't tried to use his elbows yet.

    Eyes, by 3 votes.  We'll definitely do the look-alikes one eventually, though!

    DD does this all the time. I call them baby crunches! Over the past few days if I put her in the tripod position she sits up unassisted! I think the crunches helps her strengthen the muscles so she could sit unassisted.
