Angelcare Monitors?

Anyone heard anything bad about them?  I registered for the Deluxe/2 handset one and  BRU tells me they're discontinued.   Still have the single monitor, less advanced ones in stock, but not the nicer ones.

Is this just a BRU thing or am I missing something?

Planning to go to BRU tomorrow armed with a 20% off coupon to buy the single monitor version.....

Just wondering.

Re: Angelcare Monitors?

  • I saw the Deluxe one at my BRU just the other day.  We have it and I used it when DS was really young because the only way he would sleep was on his tummy (even before rolling over) and it just gave me peace of mind.

  • I put it on my registry and it was marked as purchased just a few hours later. Made me wonder if there was a problem with the registry or if someone actually bought it right after I added it. Hmm....Guess I just have to wait and see if I receive it as a gift.
    siggy should be here!
  • We have two of them.  Our girls are 19 months apart and after we were done using the senory part to the monitor we just used it for audio.  LOVED IT!!!  Yes you will get some false alarms but I'd rather have that than the other outcome.  BOth of my girls were tummy sleepers from really early on so it made us sleep a little easier.  I will use it again for DS :)))
  • Love that monitor! We had the older version and used it through #1 and #2.  Then over the summer we brought it to use just the monitor version on vacation and it didn't survive the trip.  I bought the deluxe version a month or so ago and it's even better!  I didn't hear about it being discontinued though...strange.

The monitor really does provide peace of mind that I could not live without.  You may get some false alarms which are scary but like the pp said I'd rather that then something worse.

  • I just bought one at the recommendation of the girls on 0-3. I also have a video monitor but I guess I am a nervous nelly. Embarrassed Installing it today an transitioning to crib tonight. Scared!
  • We have used it for two babies and will use it for this one.  Both of my boys hated being on their backs, so they went on their tummy.  The motion sensor gave me peace of mind.  We had come false alarms, like when baby gets into the corner of the crib, and sometimes during night feedings we'd forget to turn it off.  It was totally worth the price.
  • I LOVE the angelcare monitor. When ds was really tiny, I was worried he would stop breathing (irrational, but hey..). I was waking up every hour or so to go in and make sure he was still alive. We got the angelcare monitor, and I was able to start sleeping better and relax. It's also lasted really well - he's almost 4 and we still use the sound monitor. I'll fish out the motion pad etc for dd and will be glad to use it again!
