Do you still wear your older baby?

I haven't wore DD in a few months. once she started moving she wanted to be on the floor. Well today I've been cooking and baking. She stated pulling up on my legs so I put her in the k'tan and she's been having a blast helping me cook and do laundry. My back doesn't even hurt! DD weighs about 17 1/2 pounds. I really do miss wearing her I'll have to start again now that I know she enjoys it too!:)

Re: Do you still wear your older baby?

  • Not as often as I should. Luke wants to run all.the.time! I usually sit him in the cart when we are shopping. I do wear him on my back sometimes for walks (but usually only if it is cooler out and not really sunny b/c we are in FL and it is so hot and I don't want him to get sunburned). I recently have worn him when I feel like vacuuming or cleaning up and he won't let me.

  • Sometimes.  If we're going out somewhere that we'll be walking for a while I wear her.  She won't use the stroller, but does get tired after walking for so long, so I'll pop her on my back after a while.

  • J obviously isn't walking, but he is crawling and he does weigh 20 lbs-- and he still loves to be worn, especially while I'm walking and there is lots to look at.
  • I'll wear dd while prepping for dinner, hanging wash and when out shopping. I ask K is she wants in the ergo, most of the time she crawls over to be put in.
  • I do as well but mostly if we're out and about.  Around home he just wants to be down and moving, but it's great to be able to wear him when we go places like the Farmer's Market.

  • I still wear S a lot. When he's teething and fussy he just wants to be close all the time. When we're out I use the Ergo a lot, and at home doing chores and stuff I wrap him.
  • I haven't been wearing him as often as I should or as often as I would like.  I really should though because he's been extra clingy the past week.  Probably next week I'll get to wearing him more to help with whatever is going on with him.
  • I throw her in the Ergo on my back occasionally, but usually bring the Hotsling and carry her in that when we are out and about and she gets tired of walking.  Sometimes she will sit in the stroller, but that's rare.  The Hotsling has been a lifesaver.
  • Here and there. He likes to be held so I put him in the sling, hip carry, or hip carry in the moby. Every once in a while I will put him in the Snuggli.

  • dd weighs a bit over 20 lbs and still manages the k'tan well... I do the side carry when we take the bus especially home from Gymboree when I know she will conk out. It's much easier than the stroller... sometimes when we take the train into the city I'll take both to see which she prefers at a given time.
  • i will on occasion when she's tired of the stroller or walking. ditto lola--the hotsling has turned out to be great for short increments when she's tired of walking. she doesn't like the mei tai much anymore, maybe too restricting?

though i've got to say, it's a lot to be full term pregnant and carrying her at all--i joke that i've got 50 pounds of baby with me when i'm carrying her (she's 22 pounds and i've gained about 30 this pregnancy).

  • DD us almost 2 and I still wear her a lot. She's actually been coming up to me saying "Mommy, back!" for a couple weeks but I didn't know what she was trying to say until she brought the carrier up to me at the same time one day. Apparently I wasn't wearing her enough!
  • I still wear DS - mostly in the grocery store for longer trips or if he's really fussy and I'm making a complicated dinner.  He's 23 pounds but I barely feel him in a back carry in my Calyx.

  • I do when we're traveling or if she's having an off day - all 25lbs of her!
